How to get better leads from Facebook lead ads

Use Meta's higher-intent form type, add an intro that says exactly what happens after they submit, and ask two or three multiple-choice questions that sort serious buyers from browsers (budget, timing, location). Then contact every lead within minutes, while they still remember filling in the form.

Why it matters

Lead ads are popular because the form fills itself with the person's name, email and phone, so it takes a couple of taps. That convenience is also the problem: people submit without reading, and sales teams end up calling numbers that never answer.

A little friction in the right place fixes much of it. A review step, an honest intro and a few qualifying questions reduce volume a bit but raise the share of people who actually want to talk.

The other half is speed. A lead form is an impulse. If the first contact comes the next day, many people have forgotten they asked.

How to do it by hand

  1. Create a Leads campaign with an instant form

In Ads Manager choose the Leads objective and Instant forms as the conversion location. Pick the 'Higher intent' form type, which adds a review screen before submitting.

  2. Write an intro that sets expectations

Use the intro to say who you are, what they'll get, and what happens next: 'A consultant will WhatsApp you within an hour with three options in your budget.' Honest expectations reduce junk leads.

  3. Ask two or three qualifying questions

Use multiple-choice questions so answers are clean: budget range, timing (this month, in 3 months, just browsing), area or property type. Avoid open text boxes that slow people down.

  4. Ask only for the contact details you need

Name and phone, or name and email. Every extra field lowers completion. Add a link to your privacy policy, which Meta requires.

  5. Get leads out of Meta fast

Connect the form to your CRM or a tool that receives leads instantly, rather than downloading a spreadsheet once a day. Route hot answers (big budget, buying soon) to a person straight away.

  6. Reply within minutes and track quality

Send a WhatsApp or email within minutes that refers to their answers. Each week, mark which leads were real and compare ads and audiences by cost per qualified lead, not cost per lead.

How to do it in Wirk

  1. Integrations → Meta Ads → Continue with Facebook.
  2. Ads → Campaigns → More campaign types → Meta lead form.
  3. Fill in the headline, privacy policy link and questions. Under Multiple-choice questions, tick the answers that qualify someone.
  4. Tick Show an intro card before the questions, and the Higher intent option.
  5. Leads arrive in Contacts → Leads, marked Qualified: Yes or No. Turn on Automate → Recipes → New lead → reply in 5 minutes so each one hears from you straight away.

Common mistakes

  • Using the 'More volume' form for high-value sales

It produces more leads but fewer serious ones. For property, education, cars or high-ticket services, the higher-intent form is usually worth the drop in volume.

  • Open text questions

'Tell us about your needs' is slow to answer and hard to sort. Multiple-choice answers are faster for the person and easier to route.

  • Downloading leads once a day

A lead that waits until tomorrow is far colder than one you contact now. Connect the form so leads arrive instantly.

  • Judging by cost per lead alone

Cheap leads that never answer cost more than expensive ones that buy. Track which ads produce qualified leads and sales.

Questions and answers

Why are my Facebook leads low quality?

Usually because the form is too easy to submit by accident and nothing sets expectations. Switch to the higher-intent form type, add an honest intro and qualifying questions, and reply within minutes.

How many questions should a lead form have?

Two or three short multiple-choice questions plus the contact details you need. More than that usually lowers completion without improving quality much.

Do I need a privacy policy for lead ads?

Yes. Meta requires a link to your privacy policy on every instant form, and it should explain how you'll use the person's details.

Should I send leads to a website form instead?

Website forms often produce fewer but more serious leads, and the Pixel learns from them. Instant forms are faster for people on phones. Testing both is reasonable once your follow-up is quick.
